It's ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!

So for the last week or two our furnace hasn't really felt like heating the house reliably. Oh sure, for a few days there when the outside temperature was more well, moderate shall we say, the house was snug as a bug in a rug. Once things started getting cold though, it was time to call for help.

Just allow me to put in a plug here for Apollo Heating and Air. They rock, you hear me? ROCK.

So anywho, I called them yesterday around 3 and explained what was happening with the furnace. Not only did they diagnose the problem over the phone, they had a guy come out this morning at 9:30. Now THAT, dear Internet folk, is fast service. The technician showed up, took the access panel off the furnace (after he shut the furnace off, first), and decided to check out the flame sensor. This little device basically tells the furnace "Hey, you're heating, keep up the GREAT work!" Turns out that our little sensor was dirty, which caused the furnace to quit heating. Five minutes of work later, the furnace is back on and little flames are merrily dancing in the burners. Within twenty minutes of him leaving, the house was already within a degree or two of where I have the thermostat set.

All of this, and we're NOT bankrupt as a result! I may stop by the liquor store on my way home.

That is all, let's keep it real, eh?
