Tales From the Crypt....err, State.

I had so much fun writing about The Turtle in my last entry that I decided I'm going to make this more of a regular thing here. Today I intend to write about the user I have dubbed "Janet Reno's Evil Twin" or "JRET" for short. I have dubbed her this because she bears a striking physical resemblance to our illustrious former Attorney General.

Anywho, JRET is a manager of a division within my department. She's usually not in the bestest of moods because all things technology-related piss her off. I think that sets the table well enough, so on with our story....

So JRET has a printer in her office (editor's note: it seems like most of my stories are about printers.). JRET manages to have a problem with her printer on an almost daily basis, and then proceeds to send angry emails to our group about her ongoing issues. Now I should also mention that every problem she's had has been self-inflicted. So I went down to help her this past Friday, as she was unable to print anything. Turns out her printer was turned off. Turning it on tends to resolve THAT issue. She must have been embarrassed by this, because a few days went by without us hearing from her. Until today that is, when we got a *very* angry email (how can emails sound so angry?) about her still having trouble printing. Dutifully, I went to her desk to discover that she had ten or fifteen documents queued up to print, and not a single piece of paper anywhere near her printer. I pointed this out to her, only to hear "Well how was I supposed to know the printer needed paper?"

It was just then that a message popped up on her computer screen emphatically stating "Printer is out of paper. Printing will not continue until paper is added. Warning 6."

I loaded paper in her printer, then walked out of her office whistling 'Even The Losers' by Tom Petty.

I think it had one of those, but I was just pleased she wasn't using the mouse as a gas pedal to make the computer go faster!
