I have to begin my post with this cute photo taken by uncle Pat. She looks ready for a parade.
Every year Pop-pop signs the grandkids up for the kids race at the Grandpas Run for the Walleye in Cross Lake, MN. This was Clara's first race and she had been training for this for a while.
The first heat was 0-5 years
She started off at a sprint and when rounding third base, became more interested in the dirt than running.
She didn't come in last though...James says she won her age group...0-1. He was a proud papa that day.
During the adult race the twins were caught up in catching dragon flies. I couldn't figure out how they were catching them! They are fascinated with bugs and dinosaurs.
I'm gonna take a wild guess at this because the way I tell them apart is that Owen has a small scar on his forehead which I can't see in the photos. I think this is William
and this is Owen.
After the race we went back to the cabin for a dip in the lake. Clara isn't too thrilled with the thought of getting wet in a bathtub the size of a small town so she settled for sunbathing on the boat.
She liked the big flag better than the mini one. I think it's because the boys kept fighting over them and she knew she had the upper hand being the girl.
Not so much the upper hand here.
On Sunday we packed up to go home and as I took the suitcase out to the car I heard, "Aunt Becky, where you going?" I though the tree was talking to me and I was right. The boys are 3 1/2 and they can climb trees? I have no idea how they got up there.
