So the big day has come and gone. The big number ONE! Everything turned out including the magnificent "caterpillar cake". I used the Betty Crocker Bake and Fill cake pan so that I could have dome shaped cakes. I read some reviews on the pan and was a little scared about tackling the project for such an important day but it turned out to be a cinch to use. And so yummy!! Every dome had a different cake flavor with different filling, and it was really fun to make.

After all of the domes were filled I trimmed them so they would fit together and then frosted them.

Feet and spots were applied along with eyes and antennae.


Voila!! A birthday caterpillar!


Clara had tons of fun toddling around in her tutu.

Splashing in a bucket of water, trying to wash the chocolate off. This ended up being more fun than function. We threw her in the tub before it was time to open gifts.
